I was reading an article about how a group of #GenZ New Yorkers are having monthly #luddite events. They're getting outside, eschewing personal tech, and living in the moment together doing fun things.
I think it's great honestly. We're all burning out to some degree. As the saying goes, "The kids are alright".
Sometimes I feel a bit sad that some people are really unable to have an intellectual discussion, because they cant really express their views and instead get all emotional, but to avoid exposing that they instead express their emotions in all sorts of weird and artistic ways, but it also doesnt contribute anything constructive and just make a bad situation worse. Opportunity to inspire and maybe find additional allies gets destroyed. ...🤷♀️

It's really difficult to explain BEAM concepts to non-BEAM engineers. People are too afraid of storing things in memory, but they love their Redis instance. BEAM taught me to use memory at will!

As a soon to be Independent Scholar, Im looking at how to make what I write more permanent, not only relying on academic journals (OA very cost preclusive). So adding a DOI to blog posts, and Diamond publishing might be a solution. I add a few blog articles to my Zenodo, so get a DOI there. Im also looking into adding DOIs to some of my blogposts and archiving at IA via Rogue Scholar.

in terms of judicial branch rules, there's also Federal Rules of Evidence (I've been meaning to blog about this), Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, and so on, https://www.law.cornell.edu/rules has a list.
And then of course, each state has its own variation of all of those, which are usually based off the federal rules but subtly different (e.g. New York State declined to follow https://wikis.world/@legoktm/117239345138257040)
